Skoda Octavia RS Roars Back to India – Bookings Kick Off Next Week

Hey everyone, remember the Skoda Octavia RS? That zippy sedan that had gearheads grinning ear-to-ear back in the day? Well, it’s making a comeback to Indian roads, and if you’re into performance without the full-on supercar price, this could be your jam. Skoda just dropped the news: pre-bookings open on October 6, right on their website, with prices revealed on the 17th and deliveries rolling out by early November. Only 100 units for the whole year, so yeah, it’s going to be a hot ticket.

This isn’t some watered-down version either. The 2025 Octavia RS packs a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine – the trusty EA888 mill – pumping out 265 horsepower and 370 Nm of twist. Hooked up to a slick seven-speed DSG dual-clutch auto, it blasts from 0-100 km/h in 6.4 seconds and tops out at 250 km/h electronically capped. It’s lowered by 15 mm for that planted feel, with a sporty exhaust note to match. Outside, you get matrix LED headlights, blacked-out accents, and 18-inch (or optional 19-inch) alloys that scream “fun ahead.” Inside, it’s all about the driver: bolstered sport seats with red stitching, a flat-bottom steering wheel, a 13-inch touchscreen for infotainment, and a digital cluster that keeps you in the loop.

Word on the street is it’ll slot in around 45-50 lakh ex-showroom, putting it in the same ballpark as the VW Golf GTI but with more rear space for those family hauls. As a fully built import from the Czech Republic, it’s a halo car for Skoda’s 25 years in India – think limited-edition vibe without the sticker shock of imports. No Dynamic Chassis Control here, but the basics like adaptive cruise and a 360-degree camera should keep it modern.

In a market gone SUV-crazy, it’s cool to see Skoda betting on a proper driver’s sedan. If you’ve been missing that old-school thrill, mark your calendar – this RS might just fill the void. Who’s putting down a deposit?
