As of June 22, 2025, following Israel’s recovery of the bodies of three hostages—Yonatan Samerano, Ofra Keidar, and Shay Levinson—50 hostages remain in Gaza from the 251 captured during the Hamas-led attack on October 7, 2023. Israel believes 27 of these are dead, leaving approximately 23 presumed alive.
